I was really devastated for her. I was so heartbroken. But I was really truly acting on something that for me is a real fear as a performer, forgetting the words. Every night on the Glee tour when I would sing Don’t Rain On My Parade, I used to call Dante and say “I’m gonna mess up one night, I know it! And I’m so scared.” So to have that happen and to have that happen to her in such an important moment, I was so sad for her which is why I think that scene came so easily to me. It was actual nerves. It was actually something that I truly felt fearful about for her and for myself as a performer.
